Questions I get a lot
How do I get married as a foreigner in Sweden?
To get married as a foreigner in Sweden, you’ll need to apply for a marriage license at the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket). You’ll need valid ID, proof of citizenship, and a certificate of no impediment to marriage from your home country. After receiving the license, you can marry at a civil ceremony or through a religious service. The process is relatively simple, and you don’t have to be a resident of Sweden to marry here!
